Good News: Congratulations to…

Branston Community College I was pleased to support the opening of the new Douglas Building on July 13^th. The brand new facilities enable top quality vocational training.

Branston Potatoes on their new factory, opened on July 21st. Great to see well-deserved success and local employment.

Branston Village Hall on its new heating system, grant-aided by LCC, among others, supported by the community and hard work from the committee!

Navenby Bowls Club on achieving a further £7,300 grant from the Sports Foundation, for equipment that will enable them to better maintain their own grounds. In August the club hosted a national tournament and was packed with participants.

Welbourn, on good progress with the work of greatly improving the village hall, using around £1/3m from the Big Lottery Grant, LCC, NKDC and others.

Hill Holt Wood who provide a Ranger service in our villages have won a national Green Apple Award for its new low carbon community centre at Norton Disney.

Congratulations

On a series of brilliant events organised in August in our villages; Branston Summer Gala, the big fun run from Welbourn, Wildlife Watch Children’s Camp in our conservation area at Hilltop, Harmstock music event at the Thorold Arms, Harmston, the Coleby Cycle Ride and more. Hard work organising and fun taking part makes our village lives special – thank you.

A Team

Thirty-one members of staff in the Older Person’s Support Service have scored “A” during a recent inspection. They demonstrated safety and involvement of carers and other agencies.
