Some good news
Grant Success!
I was pleased to be able to help working with the secretary to obtain £14K grant for the roof and tower of Harmston Church.
Leadenham Landfill
Thank you for your prompt responses in support of the public amenity site. I presented our case to the Executive Councillor and his advisors on Monday. Following discussion it was agreed to retain the Friday opening for two further months. The costs and benefits will be reviewed at the next meeting. Further letters and petitions are welcome.
Branston Lighting
The public were consulted on the proposal to switch off the street lights between midnight and 5am. There were strong objections including 44 letters. There were 18 letters of support. I was successful in raising your concerns with LCC and the decision has been taken not to pursue the scheme in residential areas. The savings were very limited in any case.
Nocton War Games
Thank you for your helpful e-mails on this. In the face of fierce opposition, the application was withdrawn. As with the motor cross in Wellingore, anyone can use a site for up to 14 days per year without seeking change of use planning permission, but they are not allowed to cause a nuisance. Any breaches would need to be formally registered with NKDC environmental health department: 01529 414155.
Children’s Activities
In response to requests, I have been involved in organising a number of children’s activities for October. Please see programme.
Congratulations to Coleby on winning the Best Kept Village competition for their size of village. No doubt the new smart village hall has helped!
Congratulations to Mr Eric Morley of Wellingore for winning second prize for the best garden in North Kesteven.
Congratulations to Sally Plowman of Coleby School for her picture in the “Going to School in Lincolnshire, published by the County Council.

Planning
