7 New affordable houses for rent or purchase at Twenty Row, Navenby on NKDC land. New play area created as part of the package.

Vulcan in flight at Waddington Air Show-what a great day! Networking here resulted in twenty children from the Kids Club of Wellingore and Navenby being invited for an activity day with RAF instructors: They had a great day!

60 years of the NHS was celebrated with the Red Arrows flypast at Waddington Airshow being dedicated to the NHS. Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust Chairman and I got to cut the cake, though not to eat it all!

Flypast at very successful Navenby School Fete, well arranged through pilot parent! Whole event brilliantly organised by Friends of Navenby School.

Navenby Roman Day: A brilliant re-enactment event once again, attended by many hundreds of people. Organised by the Navenby Archaeological Group, where we have a lot of fun!

Rural Transport
I have worked quite hard on rural transport as it was highlighted as one of the top issues for people in rural areas. We have three successes so far;

The Voluntary car schemes for the Cliff villages are up and running. As there was a problem with one of the phone numbers, please ring Edward on 01522 720512 while we sort it out and for Navenby the number continues at the Parish Office on 01522 811132.

The new Call Connect bus run by the County Council starts this month.
This is a fully-accessible minibus available from Monday to Saturday, 7am-7pm. Concessionary bus passes are accepted. Book not more than 7 days ahead. 0845 2343344

The single Dial-a-ride bus for the whole of North Kesteven is bookable through the County Council on 0845 456 4474. Need to become a member.

Planning changes
Consultation now completed on the restrictive condition to ensure that all new dwelling permissions can only be for people who live locally in tier 3 villages. May bring house prices down. Contact Paul Harvey on 01522 553094 or Rob Clayton on 01522 553059.

Cumberland Avenue, Wellingore consultation now complete as Council tenants choose how they would like their central shared area designed. Planning permission isnow sought.

Motorcross at Navenby
A number of us have been working on this one, which is allowed under planning for limited days. Not allowed, however, is to cause a nuisance so problems of noise do need to be reported to NKDC on 01529 414155 To see what is planned, you can look http://www.lincolnmotocross.co.uk/page13.htm

Planning

Lincolnshire Independents, Lincolnshire First!

Lincolnshire Independents – Lincolnshire First!

A New Political Force in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire Independents – Lincolnshire First! Was launched on Friday 18th July 2008. This is a re-alignment of politics led by five Lincolnshire County Councillors, Marianne Overton Chairman (Branston and Navenby), Richard Austin Treasurer, (Boston South), Chris Brewis, Secretary (Sutton Elloe), Mark Horn Campaign Manager and Mike Williams (Grantham East).

“Lincolnshire Independents – Lincolnshire First! intends to re-write the political landscape in Lincolnshire. This is an exciting time in Lincolnshire – a new political force is emerging.” said Marianne Overton, Chairman of the new movement, at its launch in Lincoln. “It is vital to retain our independence from national political parties in order to focus on putting Lincolnshire First.”

Richard Austin, leader of Boston Borough Council stated, “There is deep disillusionment with the old politics – Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat. People just do not trust them – they do not answer to local people and they have failed to deliver practical policies that help people. Lincolnshire deserves better!”

“Politics to be meaningful must be local” said veteran independent campaigner Chris Brewis.

Brewis stated, “We want to represent local people directly, setting local priorities and answering to the local communities that elect them. We do not answer to London, to Regional Party Agents, nor to a Party whip, we answer only to our consciences and our electorate. Our policy is developed by local consensus, by open discussion and by vigorous debate. We believe this is true democracy.”

Mark Horn, Campaign Director of Lincolnshire Independents – Lincolnshire First!, said: “There is tremendous opportunity for a new form of politics – District, County, Parliamentary, and indeed, Europe. We will be looking to fight for the people of Lincolnshire at every level”.

Horn stated: “The old political parties are failing because they do not represent the people of Lincolnshire. We need to bring more people into politics – people from the private sector, young people, and people from all backgrounds.

“We need new perspectives, new ways of looking at things, new ways of doing things. We need to ensure that our politics reflects the energy and vibrancy of our diverse community. “The tired excuses we hear time and again from the old political parties just won’t wash anymore. Lincolnshire Independents will put Lincolnshire First! ”
